Wesley Chapel, FL, March 03, 2008 – Local community members sent a little piece of home to U.S. soldiers overseas, thanks to Market Technologies, proprietor of VantagePoint Intermarket Analysis Software, and TradingEducation.com.
The two firms donated two cases of Girl Scout cookies, totaling 24 boxes, to the Cookies from Home program sponsored by Girl Scouts of West Central Florida in a partnership with Support Our Troops as part of a community service initiative. Each week Support Our Troops ships more than 200 boxes to U.S. soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar and Kyrgyzstan. This program allows individuals and companies to support the Girls Scouts without actually taking in the cookies themselves.
“Reading some of the thank you notes written by the soldiers overseas really puts things into perspective,” said Louis Mendelsohn, President and Chief Executive Officer of Market Technologies, the privately held, Inc. 500, trading software company. “The letters are so sincere and heartfelt. It makes the donation all the more rewarding knowing we here at Market Technologies are able to put a smile on a soldier’s face.”
