Market Technologies Announces VantagePoint for Windows 4.2 Release

Wesley Chapel, FL November 10, 1999 — Louis B. Mendelsohn, President and Chief Executive Officer, announced the release of the latest version of Market Technologies’ Intermarket Analysis Software Program: VantagePoint for Windows 4.2. First released in 1991, VantagePoint predicts next day prices and the short term trend direction for twenty-one actively traded futures markets including Treasury Bonds and Notes, foreign currencies, oil and gasoline markets, the S&P500 and OEX indices.

Over the past eight years there have been many revisions to VantagePoint, as Mr. Mendelsohn and his research team, the Predictive Technologies Group, have continued to improve its predictive forecasting accuracy. According to Cindy Beverland, Director of Operations “VantagePoint for Windows 4.2 represents our biggest stride to date in VantagePoint’s development. We have expanded our compatible data formats, including the Metastock© format, in addition to enhancing VantagePoint’s overall performance and operation. Building on its Windows 95/98 32-bit architecture, VantagePoint for Windows 4.2 sets the foundation for Market Technologies to move forward into the new millennium with a solid intermarket analysis platform and substantial predictive capabilities.”

Ms. Beverland indicated that “this release of VantagePoint for Windows is in keeping with our long term commitment to our current customers who have helped fuel Market Technologies’ explosive growth over the past several years. Recently ranked 29th in revenue growth in the Florida 100 competition among privately-held comapanies in Florida, and 17th in the Tampa Bay Fast 50 competition among both public and private technology-related companies on Florida’s west coast, we really have the financial resources and expertise to continue to forge ahead with our R&D.”

The accuracy statistics for version 4.2 at predicting the trend direction on a short term basis, based on Market Technologies’ proprietary neural network training and testing regimens, ranges from 70.70% to 81.67% depending on the specific market. On the twenty-one markets covered by VantagePoint, the average accuracy on forecasting the trend direction is now 75.56%. This puts Market Technologies “within fighting distance” of realizing an overall accuracy level of 80%, according to Mr. Mendelsohn.

Market Technologies is a world pioneer in technical analysis and market timing software. Founded in 1979 by Mr. Mendelsohn, with customers in more than thirty countries worldwide, Market Technologies has developed a proprietary market timing technology that utilizes neural networks and intermarket analysis to forecast twenty-one financial markets, including interest rates, stock indices, currencies, and the energy complex.
